Raising awareness on the Circular Economy and New Growth Opportunities

The kick-off meeting on Raising awareness on the “Circular Economy and New Growth Opportunities took place in the form of Introduction meeting and was held on the 13th of August 2021 in an online conference format.

Mission statement:

The main outcome of the event was to raise the awareness, train experts, introduce the topic on the implementation of the RECP methodology, and foster discussions and questions on the work implemented under the EU4Environment Action in Azerbaijan.

Objectives:

  • To raise awareness among key stakeholders on the approach and benefits of implementing RECP
  • To share international experiences on RECP
  • To bring together decision-makers, specialized professionals, and members of academia to tap into possible synergies amongst institutions
  •  To introduce participants to the key concepts on CE
  •  To present instruments on the application of the RECP Framework
  • To present examples of industrial waste mapping practices

Target audience:

The target audience for this event was composed of staff from government institutions, international organizations, business associations, the private/industry sector, NGOs, research institutions, universities, shortlisted RECP trainees and demonstration companies, etc.

Target group: Azerbaijani SMEs (the private and industry manufacturing sectors), business associations, NGOs, government agencies, academia, the general public

Communication tool: Email communication; online news promotion (EU4Env website, EUD website; ACE website, social media promotion and advocacy); livestreaming on the EUD social media page; media press release published in EN and AZ

Participants and expected impact: Gathered over 100 participants, raise awareness and interest on the topics of CE and RECP, engage relevant stakeholders and promote knowledge sharing and cooperation opportunities.
